To this end, a variety of prayer styles were compared. Years of personal experience were drawn on to formulate a series of teaching sessions presented at a small local church. The author's research revealed the biblical basis for prayer as the cornerstone of Christian discipline. It was also shown historically how a style of approach to prayer can set the tone for a whole movement within the church. Examples from the historical Korean prayer movement were drawn on frequently. The author examined and practiced the various prayer styles with her church members and defined both vocal and meditative prayer as major categories, each containing many distinct practices. The author found that the people who joined the program experienced new styles of prayers and spiritual gifts and wanted to learn more and prayed more."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126558399791104,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:29:56.179Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:38:48Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:35:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f06fd51f-d023-410d-a022-fafabf169ae1","accessControl_ssim":["33a29282-2adc-4e28-9be2-ddc3feefff16"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Deeper and wider: introducing diverse contemplative prayer forms to a Korean church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:38:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:59:38Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c8829a99-b86f-47a0-8f8b-96669af94991"],"hasLease_ssim":["ab5d1a8a-012e-48f2-bb92-d71a6774dbbd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kyunglim Shin Lee"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"location_tesim":["Korea"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
