Data gathered from 28 participants by an original questionnaire was analyzed in order to determine: if the group had a positive effect; which of Clebsch and Jaekle's four functions of pastoral care was most in effect; what variables (classifying and Pruyser's seven diagnostic) were most related to positive effect; and what program resources were reported as having the most positive effect. This historical study, designed to foster understanding and dialogue among evangelicals and non-evangelicals in the local church setting, was taught as a series of classes in the author's church.
