The project included a quantitative and qualitative pre-test, post-test design that measured the participants' understanding of the effects of unprocessed trauma.As a results of this study, participants increased in their knowledge about common triggers to past experiences. A 5-point Likert scale survey was taken by eight African American male chaplains within the 807th brigade. The design of the project included the administration of pre-assessment and post-assessment questionnaires, along with five modules focusing on self-awareness for completion by the participants. The results of the five-day self-awareness course revealed that the participants became more self-aware. Winn (Ashland Theological Seminary)This project was to discover how the attitudes of the members of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church toward African American female clergy affect their positions in leading first churches (major charges or large congregations) and serving as Presiding Elders and Bishops.  There were thirty-three (330 participants who completed a 5-point Likert scale survey in January 2018 at a pastor's conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The process involved responding to pre-test and post-test surveys, learning and discussing relevant concepts, and reflecting on related articles and videos. The results of the small-group process revealed that the participants become more adept in thinking theologically about work. Surveys were completed by twenty community volunteers.  They survey consisted of twenty Likert-Scale questions, one open - ended statement, and three survey evaluation questions.  The results revealed 60% of the participants felt the church service time did not meet their schedules. The reasons included busy lifestyles, finances, and a desire to preserve personal time.  Hypocrisy in the church was selected by 45% of the participants. The participants were surveyed using an online assessment tool through a website called Survey Monkey.  The eighty-five self-selected individuals responded to the assessment instrument after they completed the journey. The design of the project included the administration of a quantitative and qualitative survey-questionnaire to be completed by the participants of the study.  Demographic questions addressed gender, age, and race. Using a quantified questionnaire-survey, this dissertation analyzes how church leaders view the existence of their churches and their relationship to the Great Commission.This dissertation finds that there firstly needs to be a change of mindset. When there is a breakthrough in ideas, practice will follow suit. The next part presents a blueprint and strategy designed for church leaders to follow, aiming at promoting mindset change. The blueprint includes the structure, system, and execution of discipleship training with suggested practical lesson plans.     In conclusion, one of Jesus’s purposes on earth was to spread the Gospel to all people. His disciples were not only followers, but also people changers whose own lives were transformed first. When we clearly identify the meaning and mission of the church’s existence, we will see that the primary responsibility of the pastor is to cultivate and train disciples. When Jesus began ministering in the first century, He established a disciple-making team that changed and transformed the world.
