The strategy team gathered research, resources, and effective evangelism models during the process. Through reflection on selected books and resources concerning the millennial generation, the project director and strategy team felt prepared to create a strategy to evangelize young adults. To accomplish this, the project director first conducted research in Hindu theology, religion, culture, traditions, and rituals. She conducted several interviews with Indian pastors, Indian Christian workers and came to understand the importance of teaching the American believers about Hindus, Hindu religion and culture, and providing them easy tools for evangelism.During the research, the project director came across a curriculum called “Love Your Neighbor” by Cathy Douglass, a missionary for Campus Crusade for Christ, also known as Cru. Campus Crusade for Christ is a ministry that reaches the unreached people group through the Jesus Film in different languages. Ms. Douglass’s Love Your Neighbor curriculum focuses on how to evangelize Hindus and win them for the Lord Jesus Christ. She is the author and trainer for this seminar. The project director came alongside Ms. Douglass and taught a few sessions during the seminar. The strategy model found in the current New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Project in Ministry Handbook was the model used to facilitate the project.A wide range of resources were used to gain a fundamental understanding of mentoring strategy programs across a broad spectrum of denominations. The project director utilized this information to build a mentoring strategy for the Baptist Association of Greater Baton Rouge (BAGBR) and the wide array of African-American church plants that it serves. Finally, in a two-day seminar, he equipped seven adults to develop a personal spiritual formation map.Over the course of completing his project, the project director increased his knowledge of the foundational components of spiritual formation and increased his skill of curriculum writing. The project director researched discipleship methods, aspects, formation, and models. Following the research, the compiled an annotated bibliography of selected discipleship models and then conducted an appraisement of selected discipleship models. From there, the project director surveyed the congregation and reviewed the existing discipleship making methods. The results of these inquires provided the project director with the needed information to develop reports on current practice and spiritual health. To fashion his learning into an enhanced strategy, he did research into strategy creation process from which he developed a report. The fruit of all the research was used to develop an enhanced strategy. A select team was then gathered to assist in the manufacture of a presentation. The team delivered the presentation to the pastors and elders. The pastors and elders asked for application details. Once provided, the strategy was accepted. The project director conducted an internal audit to produce reports that detailed the involvement of church members in spiritual growth opportunities offered at the church. The director explored the field of discipleship and spiritual growth to determine essential components of effective spiritual growth strategies, producing an annotated bibliography and a research report. A Discipleship Strategy Team was created. The team was composed of certain members from the church’s Strategic Action Team and additional select members from within the church. The project director shared his findings with the team, provided necessary training, and guided them in the development of a strategy for spiritual growth. Corinthians II","Pastoral counseling","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This Doctor of Ministry Major Project was intended to assess the extent to which people experience spiritual healing of past wounds through a series of small group gatherings focused on teaching and experiencing the spiritual healing of Jesus Christ.The project began with identifying the biblical and theological foundation for Jesus healing people from their wounds—not only physical but also emotional or spiritual. Then examining what people in other disciplines—such as social science, counseling, and business—also think, believe and teach about healing or restoration from past wounds.The intervention involved a small group of six participants experiencing a series of eight small group gatherings. They filled out a Pre-Group and Post-Group Questionnaire. After five small group gatherings of teaching, experiencing and praying, there were two Focus Groups which allowed the participants to share feedback about what they learned, experienced and thought.The data from the two Questionnaires and the Focus Groups was analyzed in order to assess the effectiveness of these small group gatherings to lead participants toward the spiritual healing of Jesus Christ. Although some view this process as a linear experience, the pattern of a labyrinth is another way to describe this spiritual journey. The image of a labyrinth is not only used as the model of spiritual formation, but is also the metaphor employed throughout a spiritual autobiography and a summary of a ministry research project. Research was conducted at Holt Free Methodist Church and involved a small group that had the opportunity to walk a canvas labyrinth while practicing Gospel contemplation. A narrative methodology was used for interpreting the data that was collected through field notes, the use of a denominational survey, and exit interviews. Just as individuals walk a labyrinth at a unique pace, the same result is seen in the practice of Gospel contemplation. The uniqueness of an individual is a key component to the process of spiritual formation.
