interventionists address when assisting churches in the recovery process, primary sources of conflict based upon church experiences, and parallels between these two areas.  Seven areas common among church interventionists were identified: acceptance of differences, unresolved corporate sin, church structure, ministry focus, leadership, communication, and accountability.  The data were inconclusive in establishing a direct relationship between the seven identified areas and the onset of conflict. The case study will focus on St. Paul's Community Church (Chicora, PA), and the disconnect between the church's missional focus vis-à-vis its representative denomination.  Using a narrative methodology, there will be a comparison of the experience of St. Paul's Community Church with St. Paul's Congregational Church (Rural Valley, PA), both of which have a shared historic affiliation with the United Church of Christ and ethnic, geographic, and sociological similarities. Together with a look at the local church's ecclesiological context, a biblical view of the Spirit's creative work in individual lives, and a historical view of conflict in St. Paul's Community Church, there will be a description of the forces that created an outcome that could only be created by the people and pastor working in a way that fit the context. This thesis project is designed and organized around bibliographic research, historical analysis, and descriptive research. A biblical foundation is laid, with particular attention given to an exposition of Matthew 18. An overview of church conflict is presented with a focus on an Anabaptist theological perspective. A brief historical analysis of the Mennonite Brethren movement provides the denominational context. Socio-cultural misunderstanding hampers relational harmony and ministry effectiveness in affected churches. In response to this problem, the researcher surveyed rurban leaders in three geographic regions of the United States, identified the major recurrent components of the rurban collision, and made recommendations to church leaders concerning how to effectively lead in the presence of rurban socio-cultural tension. The project focus was to develop a collaborative model on how to educate the community on the illnesses and symptoms associated with homelessness when internal church conflicts erupt. The mixed methodology was used to obtain the results through pre-test, post-test, questionnaires, personal interviews, and a focus group. The findings suggested that most participants did respond to being educated on the illnesses associated with homelessness. After being educated, 80% of the participants demonstrated an attitudinal change and said that they will now treat the homeless population
