When encountering such challenges, faith formation becomes an important instrument by which one may integrate the characteristics of Catholic faith in individuals and encourage concrete services within the local Christian community.  For effective faith formation, Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) are a primary means of formative activity.  To respond to ministerial needs within the INdonesian context, this thesis proposes a program of adult faith formation for BECs.  The 'program' refers to the praxis of process of developing faith formation based on contextual needs. The end product of this project is a manual that can be used by seminary students, by pastors wishing to enhance their preaching proficiency, and by teachers of homiletics who want to teach the skills needed to prepare relevant miracle stories sermons, especially in Chinese-Indonesian context. The second section of this thesis-project addresses the theological framework of miracle stories of the gospels. The third section addresses the literature reviews. The fourth section of the thesis-project is the manual itself, which addresses the practical concerns of how to prepare and deliver miracle stories of the gospels sermons. The manual found in section four is based on the principles of expository preaching developed by Haddon W. Robinson in his book Biblical preaching. Subjects were exposed to five different expository sermons in the two sermon forms and their responses to a questionnaire were collected the next day (N-1,000).  There was no significant difference between the sermon forms and the subjects ability to recall the big idea.  Narrative sermons are as equally effective as propositional sermons in recall. It was hypothesized that the incorporation of biblical teaching and cultural aspects of forgiveness would provide a forgiveness paradigm that could increase the motivation to forgive among the target community. However, the increase of scores in the willingness to forgive after the workshop was not statistically significant. The result of the research is that TITIP is a promising and effective program that achieves most of its objectives and in general adheres to good principles of teaching.The strength of the program lies especially in its spiritual formation and in its teaching of English. Factors that make the program effective include: native speakers of English as teachers, a student-oriented and interactive teaching style, dormitory living, staff are good models of Christian maturity and servant leadership, the practice of a variety of spiritual disciplines, punctuality, and critical thinking skills. The main concern about the TITIP program is that while providing a holistic training program there seems to be a lack of focus. The two objectives of TITIP are to prepare young Papuans for advanced study domestically and abroad, and at the same time to provide opportunities for preparing them to be 'change agents' and leaders in their own Papuan communities. The Lampungese of South Sumatra, Indonesia, represent such a people.  They are culturally separated from the Javanese and Batak Christians who live in their province.  They are geopolitically isolated from the main island of Java and they are economically and technologically challenged, having been slow to adjust to the modernization happening around them. The author did research to find relevant seminar topics.  Six seminars were then developed by the author and presented over a period of one semester to fifteen students.  After four months, the author evaluated the effects of the seminars on the students' lives and ministries. Three seminars were found to be helpful and the rural students had been effectively trained for city ministry.
