The design of the project included the administration of Pre- and Post-test assessments. The results of the course revealed that the participants had little understanding of the physical and spiritual divide. During the first phase of the project, the project director explored the Beatitudes (Mt: 5:3-16) and existing disciple-making models to develop a profile consisting of the salient components of a mture desciple of Jesus.  In the second phase, the project director researched various methods for strategy development and led the elders and selected leaders to develop a disciple-making strategy for Welsh Baptist Church. To do so, it uses two layers of research strategies: (1) at the national level, a qualitative analysis of two national reports and generalizations made about the American Church and culture and (2) at the regional level, an anonymous survey of individuals and participation in both a nondenominational church plant and an established mainstream congregation.
