The purpose of this project was to develop a vision strategy for Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hillsborough, North Carolina. By studying the demographics of the community and the church, the project director hoped to see God working to bring believers together to formulate avision strategy. Concurrently, the project director studied and evaluated several models for developing a vision strategy, seeking to guide a leadership team to discover the unique makeup of the church and how an intentional strategy within the framework of a tailored model will guide the future of the church. Professionally, the project director sought to grow in his knowledge of vision strategies and ability to adapt avision strategy process to other venues. Additionally, the project director hoped to gain leadership skills that transcend the project for use inmultiple settings in the church and community. The project director planned to use various rubrics and evaluators to appraise the research, methodology, and concluding product. Ultimately, the project director desired to see ministry alignment across various programs and arenewed passion for community ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716650445963264,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:05:46.339Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:35:19Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:31:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"30a67aa0-e233-44f5-8b86-33f8268e475d","accessControl_ssim":["a1d54dad-5b7d-4f6e-96a3-df6752b0c54a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Don't forsake the past: reclaiming the history and heritage of Baptist life and thought in colonial North America"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:35:17Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:32:50Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b715fb58-603b-45c5-af00-a88c515034a8"],"hasLease_ssim":["349b3fbe-0887-4d97-92bf-bd46dd7fbe81"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert Mayer"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"location_tesim":["United States","North Carolina"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Curtis A Dean"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Stearns, Shubal, 1706-1771","Church history","Separate Baptists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis examines the beginning of the Baptist movement in colonial North Carolina, with particular emphasis upon the Separate Baptist movement under the leadership of the Reverend Shubal Stearns. This will be done by writing a concise history of North Carolina Baptists that will condense over three hundred years into thirty pages. Following this, a script will be written in order to convert this concise history into a video for our image conscious culture. A deficiency in understanding of North Carolina Baptist history will be documented using two tools. One, a survey of the ministerial employees of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina will be compared with the same survey given to key leaders in North Carolina Baptist life. A second tool used will be phone interviews with leading Baptist educators and historians at institutions of higher learning in North Carolina supported by North Carolina Baptists.
