It seeks to answer this question through a simple, exegetical inquiry into the meaning of pistis in Romans 3-4 and Galatians 2-3. Pistis is examined because its meaning is the heart of the debate. By looking at Paul's use of pistis in the surrounding context ofsix of the seven occurrences of pistis Christou, this project expands the evidence for a proper translation. The outcome of this study is that Paul understands pistis to mean, 'human believing' and therefore, pistis Christou means, 'faith in Christ.'"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129692332359680,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:19:44.930Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T17:28:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:55:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4513bafa-0d9f-446e-ba85-6bc9c6139df6","accessControl_ssim":["3f561a5f-f5c3-4395-a83a-56f091351eb1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Utilizing a text-driven methodology to develop a sermon series on discipleship based upon Romans 6:1-14"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T17:28:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:08:14Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ba04a520-6618-4be4-8148-feafa30c205c"],"hasLease_ssim":["13f5272e-4547-4d7b-bd70-baef7d3cae58"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Lewis Allen"],"year_tesim":["2016"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David R Bradley"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Baptism--Biblical teaching","Paul, Saint, Apostle--Theology--Sin","Baptism--History of doctrines","Paul, Saint, Apostle","Baptism","Sin--Biblical teaching","Theology","Bible. One strategy is intentionally to preach these long books in multiple series with significant calendar breaks. The majority of the work was spent in researching and writing a commentary on Romans 9-11. This portion of Scripture for a missionary to the Jews is crucial in understanding both God's plan for Israel and the importance and priority of Jewish evangelism. The shadow is an in-divisible part of becoming a whole person. In light of Jung's view that there is no wholeness without shadow, Paul's owning of the shadow reveals a crucial movement of becoming a mature Christian. Paul's ultimate mission goal is to be transformed into the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18), and Rom. 7:14-25 is an example of the ongoing dynamic journey of integrating the shadow and Christ in the transformation process."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129317026037760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:13:47.010Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:51:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:15:55Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2d6f3d9e-956e-47ae-b0bb-35cb11a2de63","accessControl_ssim":["61a9094a-e360-4603-8629-84c2c9308b3d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Exploring the value of doctrinal preaching from Romans 1-8 using an expositional preaching method"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:51:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:27:33Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["22d15cf5-d812-4fa4-89e5-5044e3b2aebf"],"hasLease_ssim":["1a5c825c-86b3-4962-bb44-4c2d15d99d66"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["David L Larsen"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mark Joseph Seversen"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Bible.
