This project endeavors to determine if there is a biblical paradigm that could help preaching provide an effective response in order to effect a hearing of the gospel in today's world. Since the Church's postmodern context directly connects with the paradigm of exilic/post-exilic thinking, strategies for interpretation of the Word of God related to that paradigm can influence effective preaching that remains faithful. An in-service workshop was conducted with nine supervisors in one training center.  'The Message of the Psalms,' by Walter Brueggemann was used as the text, along with selected psalms of praise, lament, and thanksgiving.  The Bruggemann grid of orientation was used to frame the teaching of theological integration. The hypothesis was that through formation of a group named Order of Mission, its members would develop toward Christian maturity, and the congregation would assume a conscious stance of world involvement.  The group was action-oriented, but also fulfilled functions of reflection, fellowship, and celebration.  The model was AAAR: awareness, analysis, action, and reflection.  The hypothesis was partially proven.  Group members experienced deepened concern for mission, but the congregation did not show strong evidence of following this direction.
