The degree of increase in the area of spirituality within the group was measured by two assessment surveys -- a pre-project survey and a post-project survey. The project culminated with the submission of art projects created by the participants through assistance of spiritual disciplines. The most prominent finding was that participants recognized the God moments in their lives. The second most prominent finding was that participants recognized the place of art in worship."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["beb93775-0b27-4cc6-9fb0-f2ad62e68517"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130300334473216,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:29:24.766Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:26:50Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:19:33Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0b2b69bb-bd6b-4e19-9354-33efec3dd8a1","accessControl_ssim":["46e39cd9-0575-4018-95c8-cab1097c9dca"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Hagar! The dissertation/project commences with an exegesis of the sacred texts and traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam concerning the slave of Sarah and mother of Ishmael, Abraham's first child. Focusing on selected works of art from diverse cultures and periods, including manuscripts, paintings, sculptures, poetry, and films, the iconography is contextually and hermeneutically analyzed from each artist's social location. The study culminates in a proposed museum exhibition featuring the artists' visual interpretations of the Hagar narrative which were fine-tuned in two workshops."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717518390067200,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:19:34.075Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:48:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:22:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"447bd280-e89f-486d-a9e3-9b15f7077326","accessControl_ssim":["8d1aa21d-c432-4f18-a40d-ea69b400775d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Seeking the symbolic structure of Eucharist"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:48:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:07:18Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a70cc2da-f14f-40a8-adc6-71913ac8d58c"],"hasLease_ssim":["3be691ba-c90c-4b42-8255-00bd14a2b5e0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Cecilia A Ranger"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Pamela H Miles"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christian art and symbolism","Anthropology and religion"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study refutes the binary (male/female) understanding of biblical anthropology. A woefully inadequate, often dualistic, misreading of Scripture, this assumption has long obscured the symbolic structure of Eucharist. This Dissertation/Project reorients Christian anthropology within the triadic paradigm of Hebrew and Christian symbolism. It builds on the 1960's work of social anthropologist Mary Douglas who argued Old Testament Hebrew purity rules and ritual implied a well-defined symbolic system rooted in social organization. Evidence from archaeology, anthropology, and Scripture suggests that biblical symbols are indeed part of a systematic symbolic matrix whose rules 1) safeguard a social order modeled on the cosmic balance of earth (male), seas (female), and sky (symbolic language) and 2) inform our awareness of Trinity."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717721126993920,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:22:47.420Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:17:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:44:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7e7c6da5-d792-45e7-82ef-7b95a6f5996a","accessControl_ssim":["e9eac4bc-7c54-4196-96bc-612beb78e1e1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A critical study of the history of Christian art in Korea - a textbook for use in seminaries in Korea"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:17:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:51:43Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8ec1d1b6-2199-4f12-b1d8-014dd224493f"],"hasLease_ssim":["bf183aef-6c36-4bb3-8f46-123facc25bd3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kyung-Sung Lee"],"year_tesim":["1989"],"location_tesim":["Korea"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Yun-Ho Ye"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Contextual"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christian art and symbolism","Christianity and culture","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Early Christian works of art were not painted for their artistic value, but rather for revitalizing faith.
