The select group prepared a strategy template for the church which was presented to various groups within the church. The hypothesis was that through preaching people can become empowered to participate in social change.  A focus group was formed within the congregation using a pretest and a posttest to test the validity of the hypothesis.  The results of the model revealed that preaching did empower people to become involved in social ministry.
