The Korean Presbyterian Church of Westchester's (KPCOW) EM and KM can stay together when they view themselves as a covenantal community founded by Christ based on its baptismal identity rather than its ethnic one. The author evaluated the influence of a sermon series on the way KPCOW understands its identity by analyzing two questionnaires both quantitatively and qualitatively. The purpose of the project was to assess the value of using a covenant to enhance the relationships between these pastors in Chinese churches in the San Francisco Bay Area. Data collected by survey, personal interviews, and and interactive seminar showed an overall positive opinion about the use of a covenant between the pastors. This project reflects on the nature of community and relationships shaped by the covenant of grace.  A primary premise of the project is that much confusion exists today about the nature of relationships, stemming from a misunderstanding of our relationship with God.  Confusing covenant and contract leads to much disintegration and breakdown in churches and families.  Clarifying the nature of God's relationship with His people should shed light on ways to develop a true covenant community and inspire true covenant marriages.  The thesis begins with a discussion of the nature of today's culture and an examination of the history of West End Presbyterian Church.    A survey of Thomas F. Torrance's thinking on the nature of the covenant of grace follows.  The next chapter is a discussion of the structure of the ministry of the church in light of the covenant and culture.  Chapter four explains the appendices.  Chapter five looks at the future of West End Presbyterian Church in light of the covenant. More specifically, a covenant-based spirituality model was implemented in the organizational life of the First United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with each of the committees, councils, and boards participating in the process.  A pre- and post-project questionnaire was designed and conducted to measure the impact of the covenant-based spirituality model on individuals, committees, and the congregation.  In addition, a questionnaire was provided to those who were directly involved in the implementation of the covenant process. Koinonia is defined as a consensual partnership between a church's membership and minister(s) in which the roles and expectations of each party for the other are explicitly understood.  The significant conclusions of this paper are that through a covenant process the reality of koinonia between laity and clergy as envisioned by the New Testament can be established and maintained in the local church today. Two primary research methodologies were used in the study: the experimental research methodology and the descriptive methodology.  A pretest and posttest instrument and a congregational survey questionnaire were utilized to evaluate the study. He notes a contemporary waning of covenantalism and a skewing of voluntarism into expressive individualism.  In response to this individualism, two practices for a reclamation of covenantalism among Southern Baptists is presented: congregational covenant-making and covenantal consultation.  A model of consultation is developed which is congruent with the covenant heritage. The process detailed herein led to an identification of judicatory leadership qualities and skills which create an effective partnership in ministry and
