The author addressed some of the biblical and theological foundations for spiritual warfare throughout Chapters 2 and 3 as they relate to the local church.  He also conducted an examination of Satan, demons and spiritual warfare from both the Old and New Testaments.  The method of study and research focused on numerous biblical commentaries and other theological publications relating to these areas. Circumstances forced a reconsideration of a preconceived religious and academic orientation concerning demonic activity amongst Christians.  The work suggests that it is wrong to think that the presence of the Holy Spirit excludes the presence of demons. Scriptural examples of demonization are presented.  The paper describes the character and attributes of Satan and how he can affect a believer. It questioned: attitudes of administration, faculty and students; practices in training students in theory and application of deliverance; and how better to train students?  The study discussed precedent biblical and historical literature.  A qualitative approach and case study methodology employed interviews, documentary evidence, and observations. Administrators, faculty and all interviewed students supported deliverance ministry training.  How to supply practical training posed problems. Several issues required more systematic research.  The case that seminaries should develop deliverance ministry programs was presented. The project also researched the writings of the major Princeton theologians: Alexander, the Hodges, and Warfield, noting the many references they made to the elements of power encounter.  The Princetonians wrote from a Reformed and exegetical perspective.  The author concludes that the Princetonians offer much needed biblical counsel regarding power encounter.  Miracles are not denied; but, miraculous gifts are refuted for the post-apostolic church upon biblical grounds.  Great care must be taken in verifying alleged miracles.
