SAI has made a category mistake because it uses the wrong intellectual tool, science, to answer a theological question.  Science is unwarranted to answer theological questions.  Despite the claim that their work is 'value neutral,' proponents of SAI show their values as they attempt to answer these theological questions.  A dialogue between those working in SAI and theologians needs to be established. The study begins with an examination of the evolution of the Baptist faith.  It depicts the eventual separation within the group between the Arminians and the Calvinists.  Out of the Arminian camp develop the Free Will Baptists.  The project analyzes the internal articulations and variations of the Free Will Baptists as well as their relationships to other Baptist groups.  Chapter two provides a methodology and a theory which accepts the doctrine of free will as the point of departure in the movement's theology.
