Data was collected from individual interviews with the participants, their journals and evaluations, and group sessions with specific activities.  Analysis revealed that participants experienced personal growth and integration as an ongoing process with six distinct phases, and that other persons play an important role in that process. It was based on the writings of Gerkin, McDargh, Crossan, and Malan.  The thrust of the theory was the formation of a context out of which idolatrous myths could be identified, examined, and addressed in the therapeutic relationship to discern the consequences that might exist between those idolatrous myths and the problems in the life of the client.  A case study was the second part of the project.  The problems the client brought to the therapy were reality-tested within the working theory base and traced to their sources in the family of origin. The goal was to foster personal growth in seminarians as they prepared for pastoral ministry.  In the project, the first division documents how this experiment in personal growth was carried out.  Section A carefully outlines the methodology used and describes in detail the composition of the class of students.  Section B reveals how tensions arose in the group which ultimately forced modifications to the course. Section C highlights the innovations used to foster further fellowship and growth.  Section D explains and gives the results of the various testing used to discern growth in the students.  These tests indicated clearly that the students did grow academically, professionally, and personally as a result of the project. Seven strategic appendices are also included: the course syllabus, the leadership manual on the pastoral epistles, the Bible study manual on the Gospel of Mark, the leader's manual for training leadership for small Bible study groups, pastoral notes, evaluation-testing sheets, and material on
