Three research questions guided the study: What motivates Christian married men to sustain sexual integrity in the Sea Services? What challenges do Christian married men face in sustaining sexual integrity in the Sea Services? What practices help Christian married men sustain sexual integrity in the Sea Services? The project leader wrote a research paper entitled 'Biblical guidelines for the family based on a complementarian approach to Scripture interpretation.' Additionally, the project leader developed an equipping model to equip women to encourage husbands as spiritual leaders. Participants addressed the following issues: (1) Roles and expectations of marriage partners; (2) Spiritual development of the wife; and (3) Acts of love that can encourage husbands as spiritual leaders. When the survivor fails to attend to his sexual needs and desires, he experiences this as wounding and defends against the fragmentation of his masculine self by activating his 'masculine defense,' a masculinized narcissistic defensive structure.  Empathic attunement is provided and the wounds experienced and defenses activated in relation to the survivor are interpreted in the context of the partners' own history of trauma. A program of instruction was designed and implemented.  One group of eleven men from Mullins Station Baptist Church was enlisted to serve as an experimental group.  Another group of men from Georgian Hills Baptist Church was enlisted to serve as a control group.  The success of the program was determined through both the experimental method and the descriptive method.
