This project is unique in evaluating the relationship of individualist and collectivist values and spiritual growth among university students in Navigator ministries. Does either collectivist or individualist cultural orientation predict spiritual growth? Conversely, how does spiritual growth predict cultural orientation' do Christ-followers become more collectivist as they obey biblical 'one another' commands? Some of the surprising research results may be attributed to demographic characteristics and the rapidly changing behavioral level of university students around the world. Among other data, my research indicated that the presence of strong collectivist traits (placing high value on the opinions of immediate and extended family and friends) predicts growth in Godward disciplines."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131961651101696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:55:49.121Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:59:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:51:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"213c046e-537a-4d44-acea-1ecc182fe19c","accessControl_ssim":["7e60a88c-cecf-48c1-82f0-a52986930801"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Church revitalization through renewed connection, coordination and accountability"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:59:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:07:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d103f5f9-21be-4af9-aa45-58fe5ce60233"],"hasLease_ssim":["54edf0dd-e831-4968-a116-f831bbc2002c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Anna Case-Winters"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John D Hill"],"keyword_tesim":["Relation (Theology)","Congregations--Internal conflict"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church--Biblical teaching","Congregations","Individualism","Fellowship--Religious aspects--Christianity","African Methodist Episcopal Church","Social groups","Grant Chapel AME Church (Albuquerque, NM)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The congregation of Grant Chapel A. This study defines and discusses individualism at the family meal table and the 'Lord's Table.' Each individual member belongs to Christ and is gifted by the Spirit for the common good. The primary impediment is excessive individualism, causing the church to become a voluntary association.
