The chapel service is intended to meet the needs of Christians at Riverside Military Academy. Though current cultural presentations in music and technology affect this 'contemporary' service, God-honoring worship comes from His word as the gospel is presented. The author hypothesized that this might be accomplished by substituting three rites of spiritual passage for the customary infant baptism and confirmation.  Drawing on the liturgies of the Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and United Church of Canada and the work of developmental psychologists he designed three rites of passage and tested them in his congregation over a period of two years.
