The project analyzes and seeks means to counter falling enrollment at one such school, Kobe Lutheran Bible Institute in Japan. The project distributed questionnaires from graduates and from other schools in similar settings.  Findings revealed that socioeconomic factors and failure of the school to adapt to needs of the national church were the main causes of declining support. The method used was to analyze a questionnaire sent to 685 students in 7 of these mission schools.  The author found problems in government policy, Christian commitment among faculty and spiritual development of the students due to the competition to enter the top universities. Jeremiah's exilic image and Jesus' command 'to make disciples' were the theological rationale. Chapter 3 presents an integrated (indigenous and missionary) education, which the researcher terms palmedic.  Chapter 4 was facilitated through a study group, a questionnaire, interviews, workshops (one in Liberia and another at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary).  The researcher's analysis called for commitment, envisioning a community shared-story approach to Christian education. The thesis of the project was that a designed program of missions education would lead members to an increased awareness of and appreciation for denominational missions.
