Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio, explored the misunderstanding of hospitality where benevolence is seen as hospitality. Descriptive research methodology included a pre-test to assess current understanding of hospitality, cognitive interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Treatment included a sermon/workshop series re: biblical hospitality in postmodern culture. A post-test was administered which showed significant shift in the attitude of those who were in the core group. In discussing creation, fall, and redemption, this dissertation exposited scripture and engaged in dialogue primarily with the neo-Calvinist writings of Abraham Kuyper and his followers.
