Two discussion groups (those active in the congregation) consisting of two each of the four function pairs were selected. The sermon was preached and discussed at midweek, rewritten, preached during Sunday worship and then discussed with the second group. Study of psychological type theory and the analysis of the group discussions concluded that one could learn to simultaneously preach to the four psychological functions, resulting in more effective sermon communication."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["795851c5-e081-4353-9c00-2c554dd1d015"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135272948203520,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:48:27.020Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:46:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:58:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5f9154ee-5532-4b5b-8877-578309c2347b","accessControl_ssim":["4e7ec8f6-59f3-412e-af80-cd7587703832"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Celebrating diversity: a seminar for the local church using Jungian psychological type theory to promote tolerance of opinions on...faith"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:45:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:56:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["02b17e25-ee11-4d2c-a9bd-ed8a98510a24"],"hasLease_ssim":["feb5981c-6f7b-4842-bd5d-b0c2e5c3e9a7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["I John Hesselink"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Philip V De Jonge"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Typology (Psychology)","Toleration--Religious aspects"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project is a series of nine seminar study units designed to provide the information local church members need to understand and appreciate diversity of opinion on non-essentials of the faith which results from personality differences as described by Jungian psychological type theory. Each unit contains a group discussion guide. The material can be used in nine individual sessions or in a retreat setting. The research of the project was carried out during work with hundreds of people involved in ministry at Friendship Chapel in Jenison, Michigan. The second set of three study units presents a psychological explanation for diversity in the church based on the personality type theory of Carl G Jung. The final three study units present applications of psychological type theory to three areas of significant diversity in the church. The evaluation demonstrates that an acceptance of individual personality characteristics and a tolerance of different opinions on non-essentials of the faith can be significantly increased in the local church by means of an application of Jungian psychological type theory to issues of diversity."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132105583886336,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:58:06.385Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:29:49Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:59:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7caba7b5-68f6-4433-b591-9bde93ededdb","accessControl_ssim":["26b5a6df-88af-4cd8-871e-ed0f984b2907"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Enriching the prayer lives of a select group of members from Quinault Baptist Church by teaching them types of prayer for their temperaments"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:29:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:48:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fe4d98fc-9644-48ac-a87d-baef93919ab8"],"hasLease_ssim":["4f711e22-cb78-4beb-adba-5abd5cbfcf8c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Mike Kuykendall"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mitch W Martin"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Typology (Psychology)","Prayer","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project helped strengthen the prayer lives of twelve people at Quinault Baptist Church (Kennewick, Washington).
