IPR is effective for interpersonal skills training among clergy and seminary students. Can it be used to improve communication skills (articulating, listening, self-disclosure, openness, and conflict resolution) of parishioners in a United States Air Force (USAF) chapel? Generation X worldviews are examined with consideration of the historical perspectives on rhetoric, preaching, technology and the limits of persuasion.  The author preached four sermons at Nellis Air Force Base Generation X worship services.  Evaluations show high levels of comprehension, effect toward change, interest and personal identification. Its objective is to increase denominational identity among participants by focusing on the histories, doctrines, and polities of American denominations.  Questions are raised regarding the objective, personnel, scope, process, context, and timing of the program so that it can be adapted to any Protestant chapel setting. Chaplains and laity received small group ministry training at the Air Force Singles Conference.  Surveys conducted immediately before and after the training disclosed a positive shift in their attitude toward small groups as an effective means of providing spiritual care and stimulating spiritual growth.
