In affirming the right of African American women to live free of domestic violence, the project develops a paradigm for disseminating information to church communities while assisting churches in being more responsive to needs of victims. The style of pastoral intervention employed is built on the theoretical base of third party consultation, using System 4 leadership principles.  Major findings are that women do want their minister to care about their group, to promote it, to encourage new women to participate, to be a resource and to attend some activities. This project describes the United Methodist Women's group studied, the process of intervention, the feedback instrument, and the results.
