The author conducts exegetical study of shalom and eirene in the Hebrew and Christian Testaments and traditions. She identifies human communion, harmony, wholeness, and equilibrium as primary to God's purpose for humanity and thus to the very ministry to which the church is called. An integrated learning model based upon these biblical concepts is tested by an ecumenical group of adults that confirms the thesis. A manual based on the integrated learning model, which can be used in a variety of learning contexts, outlines study plans for groups of twelve to sixteen members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128121730138112,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:54:47.087Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:59:59Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:54:44Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9b166015-aaad-4cdf-b672-1c9680d44835","accessControl_ssim":["214ee6ec-729f-4d93-82c6-606326fb32b4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Toward human wholeness centering in the spirit: a wholistic pastoral care model"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:59:58Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:40:05Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8518bfb3-f0dc-4d59-88f5-cde00f01e51f"],"hasLease_ssim":["12786856-adfb-4edb-b742-aaee31fe4224"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Vanderbilt University"],"advisor_tesim":["Liston Mills"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["S Daniel Rosemergy"],"publisher_tesim":["Vanderbilt University Divinity School"],"subject_tesim":["Spirituality","Perfection","Pastoral counseling"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project presents a 'wholistic spirituality' concept for the life of the church and a working model of a wholistic pastoral care program. The first hypothesis, that there would be significant disagreement (defined as 15 percentage points) between the chaplains and civilian clergy on the issues surveyed, was proven false. The summary and results are based on data compiled through the use of a guided interview format. Interview questions were used at the beginning and end of the program. An assessment of the program's effectiveness indicated that the program was a success. This project is written to elevate the lives of poor Black single mothers. Its roots are embedded in developing relationships and caring for a segment of our community that is all but forgotten, the inner-city or urban America. The basic premise is that relationships are the keys to changing lives. Regardless of the plight of people, everyone wants to be in relationship with someone whom he or she can respect and trust. The author and nine members of St John's United Methodist Church in Gbarnga, Liberia, studied the book of Exodus and focused on issues of contextualization. They identified issues common to Hebrew and Kpelle cultures, and considered tribal elements such as proverbs, stories, idioms, and theology. The result was the production of a Bible study teacher's guide on Exodus, and an awareness by participants of anwers to their questions about how to make the Christian Church relevant in their context."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129255235551232,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:12:48.082Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:59:31Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:23:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e291e9bd-779b-4f40-b145-fbffe139fe24","accessControl_ssim":["dea8dd07-81cb-4279-a93d-cb4ce7ae84e0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Singing in the key of love: a journey to the Jesus in me for others"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:59:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:36:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["00dad083-c95a-485a-b48d-0c378eb5be89"],"hasLease_ssim":["f940ec02-e53d-470e-8702-7c2ae9583ead"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kendall McCabe"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jaime Potter-Miller"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary (OH)"],"subject_tesim":["Faith development","Gifts, Spiritual","Spiritual life","Personality tests"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This document is based on the premise that an individual's 'being' and 'doing' must be held in creative tension by a band of spiritual energy that is in continual movement.
