The shadow is an in-divisible part of becoming a whole person. In light of Jung's view that there is no wholeness without shadow, Paul's owning of the shadow reveals a crucial movement of becoming a mature Christian. Paul's ultimate mission goal is to be transformed into the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18), and Rom. 7:14-25 is an example of the ongoing dynamic journey of integrating the shadow and Christ in the transformation process."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129317026037760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:13:47.010Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:36:03Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:45:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"10f70480-ea03-4517-90a8-dd53bf5d49fa","accessControl_ssim":["c61593a8-bcc6-4730-ad93-189d9ab5ec53"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Transformative faith journey: a model for healing 'paralysis' of spirit, mind, and body in church community"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:36:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:36:56Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["35b0ac0b-4e32-49d6-b160-69ae7e84b9f4"],"hasLease_ssim":["10e55993-1900-4c89-a3a6-6340bf777008"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Bobby J Beavers","Urias H Beverly"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Joyce Marie Williams"],"keyword_tesim":["Crisis (Psychology)"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary (OH)"],"subject_tesim":["Cross Creek Community Church (Centerville, Ohio)","Spiritual life--Christianity","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project was designed to address the spiritual transforming faith journey of persons who have experienced a 'paralysis' of spirit, mind, and body through life-altering crises at Cross Creek Community Church in Centerville, Ohio. The responses received from the study revealed that 81.3 percent of widows and 100 percent of the married women felt the ministry is strongly needed."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128223882412032,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:56:24.507Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:35:45Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:13:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1b700bae-909c-4fb9-8876-78463a6aa91a","accessControl_ssim":["ce9c37cb-a7b1-4b3d-b296-fcbd1d55d000"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Doctrinal preaching that connects: an expository sermon series on 14 key doctrines delivered in the 25th Street Chapel pulpit for the contemporary worship service at Fort Hood, Texas"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:35:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:56:25Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5761d9c7-a050-4fbe-b960-b15742948b01"],"hasLease_ssim":["a786e9f2-756c-415f-b515-8c66a4416537"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["David L Larsen"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Peter Otho Ferris"],"keyword_tesim":["25th Street Chapel (Fort Hood, Tex)"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Expository preaching","Clergy--Office","Church--Teaching office","Theology, Doctrinal"],"language_tesim":["English"],"alternative_title_tesim":["Doctrinal preaching that connects: an expository sermon series on fourteen key doctrines delivered in the Twenty-fifth Street Chapel pulpit for the contemporary worship service at Fort Hood, Texas"],"abstract_tesim":["Storytelling is in; didactic preaching is out. In this climate, how does a military chaplain do expository doctrinal preaching? This writer will attempt to show that doctrinal preaching is best done in an expository manner through diligent study, prayer, and a reliance on the Holy Spirit. Relevance is accomplished when the particulars of a given congregation are addressed. Chapter one addresses the problem of preaching that is mostly eisegetical and not exegetical. Chapter two establishes the biblical, sociological, and theological basis for doctrinal preaching with a contemporary congregation in mind. Chapter three reveals the methodology to address the stated problem, that of a preaching series on Bible doctrine. The stated primary goal is transformation, seeking the salvation of sinners and sanctification of saints. Progress of the project is also charted. Chapter four concludes with an evaluation gleaned from 24 surveys that were completed at the conclusion of the 14-week preaching series. The conclusion wraps up the entire project, encouraging fellow chaplains with preaching responsibilities toward expository doctrinal preaching."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717159544291328,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:13:51.853Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:35:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:04:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ea8c542-a228-4c6a-baab-b0966628d48d","accessControl_ssim":["96e5c5b6-d76f-4dff-9f3e-a48e4fbeba37"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping church members to use popular culture as an apologetic bridge to postmoderns"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:35:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:18:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e05b6f45-47fd-4077-9b80-19d75aa78550"],"hasLease_ssim":["46716a06-491f-497e-96cc-7b3959ba213c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Douglas K Blount"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David G Brittain"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Apologetics","Postmodernism","Popular culture"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project trained Christians to use popular media as an apologetic bridge, ideally based upon Christian integrity and genuine relationships with postmoderns. Over thirteen weeks a focus team was introduced to postmodern practice and thought and Christian apologetics. They learned to reword fundamental Christian doctrines in common language and view representative media Christianly, so that points of contact could be identified between the media and Christian beliefs. A pretest and post-test gauged the focus team's growth in their understanding of postmodernism and apologetics.
