This mission of God, or missio Dei, is reflected in Jesus' Great Commission for his disciples to go and make other disciples.  The launching of new churches needs to reflect this mandate for evangelism and be an expression of God's own missionary nature.  In this report is a case study of three larger membership Presbyterian churches in Dallas, Texas, whose launches reveal some common markers discovered through historical resources and interviews with the founders.  Larger membership churches have particular gifts for launching larger membership new church developments (NCD's).  This legacy encourages the launch of another larger membership NCD after contemporary adjustments are made to the missiology of these previous styles of NCD. Then, using Percept data an analysis is made that will show how Frisco, Texas, north of Dallas, is a likely place for the next larger membership NCD. Chapter 3 is an examination of the current methodological framework of engaging unreached peoples in order to place local church involvement with this task into its wider context. Chapter 4 reports on the actual process of partnership between Sonoraville Baptist Church and the Yi peoples of China, focusing on the concrete processes that must be put into place in the local church. Chapter 1 included an overview of Harpeth Community Church, along with the rationale, limitations, and a statement of purpose of the project.  Chapter 2 examined the theological basis for 'holistic Christian conversion' and featured a detailed look at biblical prayer, the Word of God for conversion purposes, and some of the needs presented by unbelievers before their conversion.  Chapter 3 detailed the process of conversion, and included several popular and new scales for measuring the spiritual condition of the unbeliever.  Several popular conversion programs were examined in detail. Chapter 4 introduced materials developed for the course, a meeting format, pre-training for Christians who join the class as helpters, and an overview of the actual course material.  Chapter 5 concluded the project with an analysis of the program, the volunteers that participated, and the conversion of spiritual seekers.  Other topics included the eventual improvement of the course for broader usage and the furtherance of the study in the future.  The project was developed as an attempt to provide a better alternative to the Alpha course for broad use within the Restoration Movement. Epistles of Paul","Equality","Church--Unity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This work focuses upon some intentional, unintentional, and coincidental influences a laity/clergy dichotomy has had and continues to have upon the ministry of the Christian church. A primary premise of the work is that the systemic nature of the dichotomy is expressed in most aspects of Christianity, decreasing the potential of individual Christians to effectively live the Christian life and do the work of ministry that Christ has left for his church. A historical analysis traces the origin of the dichotomy and how the dichotomy has been codified by church structures, constitutions, and traditions. The Pauline epistles are employed to illustrate the point that the whole church has been equipped by the Holy Spirit to know and to do the theology that is proclaimed in the scriptures. Peter Senge's idea of a Learning Organization is used as an applicable methodology for mending the dichotomy. Its more horizontal outline helps the church to sanction the laity as equal partners and fellow leaders in the ministry of the church and reduces the church's tendency to reproduce chronic multitudes of perpetual followers. Chapter 3 looks at church planting methodologies, including ethnic church planting and Hispanic church planting in the state of Alabama. Chapter 4 gives details of the project process. Special attention is given to the different types of preparation for church planting. Chapter 5 is the author's personal reflection on the project. Because the project's goal was to lead the church to begin the journey of church planting, little emphasis is given to the 'nuts and bolts' of church planting. Biblical and theological foundations for a higher view of Scripture were submitted from several theologians and churches.  The author also considered the contemporary world's concern for God and His Word. Ch.3 examines the five genres of the Old Testament. Specific insights, sub-types, and characteristics of each of the genres are addressed. This chapter also includes general principles for understanding each of the five Old Testament genres and suggestions for preaching these genres. Ch. 4 presents the methodology used in the expository sermon series and teaching sessions. It includes the facets of the implementation of the project from beginning to completion. Attention is given to the role of small groups in the process, as well as formal institutions.  Chapter 3 explores the field of adult education.  Of particular interest to this project is the setting in which adult education takes place.  Chapter 4 is the record of the implementation of the project.  The weekly topics for study along with the rationale for each is given as well as classroom methodology.  Chapter 5 is an evaluation of the project. The author used qualitative research methodology. The research tools used for theological reflection are the questionnaire, the semi-structured interview and the group sessions.
