The Bible is filled with charges and directions for a life full of meaning.  Matthew 28:19-20 gives us a precise command, 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.'  The charge of making disciples is clear and direct.  The question comes about when determining how best to make disciples.  Jesus used modeling and mentoring.  The established example of Jesus mentoring is the one that will be discussed and followed.     There is a great need in youth ministries for students to see how other students who are committed followers of Jesus Christ live their lives.  The project leader believes a teenage student better relates to another teenage student than to an adult.  A student mentor can grow personally by being trained to mentor, as well as become prepared to minister to their mentoree. This project will develop a curriculum for teenage leaders to lead younger students to understand how they can have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  The project leader will work with the mentor development team to develop six sessions that will be used by student mentors to lead a younger teenage mentoree.  The mentor will spend one on one time with a student who is two or more years younger than the mentor.  The mentoree will be trained to understand how to have a closer relationship with Jesus, as well as be encouraged to become a mentor to a younger student. This project will include a seminar for potential sports mission team leaders, who will learn tactics and principles for recruiting volunteers to fill sports mission teams and raise the necessary funds. Specifically, this is a study of a religious congregation called the Congregation of Marians, with an emphasis on its missionary endeavor in three different countries.  The Marians began as a religious organization in Poland, but over the years started an outreach into countries around the world.  This paper reports the research accomplished by this Marian missionary endeavor, limiting itself to the Marian establishments in the US, Great Britain and Brazil.  The research shows that the Marians are very successful in their Brazilian missions.  In Great Britain the Marians are less successful.  This paper presents reasons for the very different end results in both countries. In Great Britain the Marians reached out to Polish immigrants, and were successful initially in this ministry.  But, since the Marians did not expand their ministries to the larger population, they faced a decreasing ministerial need.  In Brazil, the Marians reached out to the larger population and thrived.  The ultimate goal of this paper was to view Marian cross-cultural outreach.  The Marian effort in the US is viewed in comparison to the two countries just mentioned.  The core research included questionnaires and focus groups in all three countries. The author offered six classes coupled with a daily reflection journal as a means to challenge persons to examine their giving and state the reason for giving, reflecting the theology of John Wesley.  Classes were designed using Groome's 'shared Christian praxis.' Research data was gathered through personal interviews from six participants who were enrolled in an independent secondary school where participation in community service was a requirement for all students.  The literature review includes research learning theories as well as a theological framework of service. A subtext for the study is wrestling with the question, 'What does it mean to be faithful as a Christian preacher in this time and culture?'  A critical review of the purposes of preaching is offered and a series of commonly held expectations or intentions of Christian preaching are clarified.  Using a hermeneutic phenomenological approach, the preacher/researcher engages seven mainline Protestant preachers in an intensive six-week study of their lived experience of being a preacher in an Easter season.  This study helps broaden our understanding of what it means to be a preacher in an Easter season, the praxis of preaching and dynamics at work in being a preacher.
