However, the dynamics of race and ethnicity are dominant presenting factors and often obstacles in multi-cultural arenas. Leaders therefore need to utilize different tools in order to overcome attitudinal and behavioral dynamics that impede a multi-cultural group's work. A framework for leadership development was established through an overview of biblical and church history and an examination of current leadership development trends. Intervention consisted of a series of sermons, 'Nehemiah on leadership,' and a small group study on 'The measure of a man' by Gene Getz. Analyses were performed to determine their effectiveness. The author researched the biblical and theological foundations that mandate assimilation while analyzing the sociological barriers and cultural trends that impede assimilation. based on that knowledge, he then developed and implemented a comprehensive assimilation strategy. The four-step assimilation strategy consists of attending New Orientation Class, joining a small group, completing Discover class, and getting involved through Servant By Design. A telephone survey of 500 CBF members formed the heart of the project's research phase. The questionnaire 'Officer Training Evaluation' was developed and given to all current officers and to the men who had completed officer- training class but did not submit to ordination.  Results of the evaluation suggest that changes made because of this project improved the officer training process and aided in the relationships between the elders and deacons and between the session and the board of deacons. Research was conducted through a literature search.  The results were presented in a form of a seven-session divorced/separated group seminar focusing on: grief and depression, loneliness, guilt and rejection, anger and bitterness, identity and self worth, sexuality, and future goals.
