Esther's actions and speeches are traced as one entry into a story world, proposing a means for students of this ministry context to gain appreciable hermeneutical skills via sensitivity to the genre's general components. When the therapist is aware of her own stereotypes, values, and biases, a safe, respectful therapeutic environment can be established that permits a positive therapeutic alliance to develop between a white female therapist and her African American female clients.  A case study, this thesis explores and examines a means of developing and maintaining a therapeutic alliance using womanist theology and relational cultural therapy. Various approaches to evangelism and church development are explored, with evaluation of evangelistic efforts of other regions and local Disciples churches in Florida. Healing of this wound is often a long and painful journey.  An important aspect of healing involves forgiveness.  This project will provide a scriptural understanding of the God who forgives, as well as offer an overview of several texts that call God's people to both claim their forgiveness and as well as to forgive.  The process of forgiveness will be explored and then applied to the unique situation of adoptees forgiving birth mothers.  A group of ten adoptees, all of whom are people of faith, will be interviewed, providing insight into the wound of relinquishment as well as their own understanding and perspective on the process of forgiveness. This project endeavors to determine if there is a biblical paradigm that could help preaching provide an effective response in order to effect a hearing of the gospel in today's world. Since the Church's postmodern context directly connects with the paradigm of exilic/post-exilic thinking, strategies for interpretation of the Word of God related to that paradigm can influence effective preaching that remains faithful. This project surveys nine new church developments in various stages of congregational development.  With so many techniques available for establishing new churches, the function and efficacy of preaching and its impact on the character development of new churches is examined.  An online survey filled out by pastors and lay leadership sought to determine the perceived relationship between preaching and certain missional practices in the new churches. This project focuses on one White pastor's Lenten preaching series against White racism with a White Presbyterian PC(USA) congregation. The purpose was to cause transformation within the congregation resulting in observable changes toward undoing racism. It explores a number of key women in the New Testament, the developmental theories of Carol Gilligan, and ten sermons by Anglican/Episcopalian women priests.  The thesis then examines homiletics curricula at four Anglican colleges in Canada.
