Participants in study were divided into four focus groups, attending nine sessions of spiritual direction using curriculum in A spiritual formation workbook by James Bryan Smith.  A self-designes questionnaire was used to measure effects of spiritual formation in the congregation. The model design consisted of a pre- and post-test survey and three workshop presentations. This action research model involved both the researcher as well as participants to effect changes in attitudes toward educational achievements. A small group participated in a retreat where they learned spiritual practices, accountability, and support.  Measurements included journal entries, surveys, and observations.  When compared to a control group, those who participated scored significantly higher in all areas of spiritual growth (both individually and corporately). The purpose was to enable the state leaders to become the National Church Library Ministry team that will carry out the objectives and actions.  A survey of 796 church library directors was conducted in January, 2002 to gather up-to-date information about church libraries. The state leaders met at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, Tennessee on March 12-13, 2002.  The process included ministry analysis, values discovery, environmental scan, and mission, vision, and strategy development. This model's instruments (e.g., vision statement, sermons and literature) can be used in other diverse chapel communities. An analysis was done of researcher's failure to impact presbytery. The researcher then built foundation for new mission work of Presbytery's Partnership Program based on insights from researcher's ineffectiveness as change agent. It was a six week study that had discussion and journaling as part of the process.  Following the study observations were done by the context committee, and interviews of the study participants were done.
