The need for this school prompted the author of this project to begin such a school, with the help of a church in Kamloops.  This was accomplished by assessing the desire for such an institution from potential students by means of a questionnaire that was sent to churches in and around Kamloops.  The district officials were also polled and when the results were evaluated, the serious planning for the opening of the school went forward.  The school opened and had twenty students initially signed up.  The first class was taught and the project ended at that point, even though other classes were planned.  There is an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the project. The author researched current literature on community and small group ministry, and interviewed successful practitioners in the area of community development. There is no way of being human without participating in culture, for it is through culture that human community is created. This dissertation is a study of the work of 19th century missionaries into Chinland, Union of Burma. An evaluation of the data shows that these missionaries were not sensitive enough to the indigenous culture and tradition of the Chin. The goal of this project was to design a ministry team structure for the local church to engage members in ministry.  A study group was involved in discovery and developmental strategy sessions to asses church needs, description of ministry teams and the design of a structure. The church participated in teaching sessions and completed a survey to determine involvement in ministry teams. It included only the first six sessions of a proposed twenty four session strategy. The project was effective as a pilot strategy and will continue to be edited. The curricula was a combination of materials complied by the project leader and materials written by the project leader. The project leader read books, studied other discipleship materials, conducted interviews, and utilized several evaluations tools to attain and measure the goals of this strategy. This project evaluated the recreation and sports ministry curriculum that was being used by various Baptist Universities, private universities, and some state universities across the United States. The project leader consulted with five nationally recognized organizations. Participants at the Recreation and Sports Ministry Conference in Lake Yale, Florida, were surveyed along with Recreation Administration graduates from Oklahoma Baptist University. Project goals helped the project leader develop his leadership skills; helped the trainees grow spiritually and develop their discipleship skills; and helped the church accept and promote the Shepherd Group Ministry. The project was conducted in three stages: the enlistment of potential leaders, the training of the leaders, and the enlistment of leaders and assignment of participants to specific Shepherd Groups. La presente tesis realiza un estudio del evangelismo de la amistad y ofrece un programa para implementar este método en la iglesia. Además presenta las razones bíblicas y el concepto Elena G. de White al respecto. Se analiza la amabilidad y la amistad como elementos básicos en las buenas relaciones humanas que permiten ganar amigos para hablarles del evangelio.
