In so doing, the boomer-type preacher's effectiveness in designing and delivering sermons will increase greatly because of the insights, perspectives, ideals, 'life texts,' movies, music, feedback, etc. shared by the millennial team members. The project's purpose is to help the congregation effectively assimilate new people by placing them in fulfilling church service.  To accomplish this, consultants were trained to use the MBTI to place people effectively in church volunteer ministry.  This project concludes that Myers-Briggs is not an appropriate tool for 'placing' people in ministry.  The ethics of Myers-Briggs do not encourage such usage. Discussion focuses on the problem of suffering and belief in a God of love.  The status and role of traditional and recent theodices within a pastoral context, liturgical issues, including the doctrine of God and Universalism in funeral rites, and the nature of trauma and its personal implications, are all explored.  Case studies involving tragic bereavement through suicide by drowning with no body to grieve over;  pre-natal bereavement of embryo twins;  and a neo-natal death of a seven day old baby are presented.  Short-term support of funeral services is considered, along with the establishment and development of longer-term support strategies of a Pastoral team, Pastoral library and Pastoral guidelines. The method offered by James and Evelyn Whitehead in their book Method in ministry is employed for this project.  Chapter One introduces and defines the terms liturgy and spiritual formation.  Chapter Two explores current seminary practice at Sacred Heart School of Theology.  Chapter Three presents theories of symbols and their meanings. The project consisted in the preparation of the congregation through a series of sermons and the training and commissioning of eight volunteers to share in the work of the clergy.  The paper also looked at how the social supports of the past were being eroded as the society became more developed. The team will then utlilize their training to implement a project that provides an opportunity for students to learn computer skills at an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico.  This type of ministry should be a foundational element of a church's comprehensive evangelical outreach program. Profile and survey data for 126 adult members received over a six-year period were used to study factors influencing their experience with the church, with the pastor, and their preparation for membership.  A program of monthly pastoral correspondences for the member's first year was designed to encourage biblically based responses in two-way communication with the pastor.
