The project revealed some forgotten trajectories that shed light on such texts as Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians 2, and Romans 11. The project concludes that the earliest Christians expected a heavenly kingdom on earth as promised in Daniel 7 and 9, and that this 'restorationist' theology remained active until the third century AD. The failure of the kingdom to appear in it fullness as expected can be explained by reference to conditional prophecies in the Old Testament that remained unfulfilled because of disobedience on the part of God's people."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andrews University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4b1d9df2-25d6-46f6-a889-1871c277d61c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135279938011136,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:48:33.686Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:25:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:19:41Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4e93f278-e589-4f9e-9532-491b08404345","accessControl_ssim":["1bcd0f76-f333-4581-9997-ae1013245da2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An examination of the adolescent African American male's attitude towards the church and pastoral response"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:25:18Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:26:21Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["79fe5dc8-a5d5-49f1-922a-7b568805b71c"],"hasLease_ssim":["06ea11bb-185e-42f4-a1f9-e0d7e01fb8f3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Kirk Byron Jones"],"year_tesim":["1997"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Reginald A Turner"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["African American churches","Church work with youth","African American clergy","African American youth","City churches"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project recognizes the distinctive religious tendencies of African Americans, manifest in the African American church as the community's longest surviving and most significant social institution. In response, the project proposes that a recovery of 'transcendence,' as defined in Carl Gustav Jung's theory of the unconscious, is the antidote to such a collapse. Based on Jung's understanding of projection, conscience, and individuation, the project echoes the call of Erich Neumann for an integration of the unconscious component of motivation in the ethical enterprise, concluding that such integration is as much art as science."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134264827314176,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:32:25.601Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:24:59Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:13:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0ed9a7bd-0daa-4915-9bac-c7e7f33946e5","accessControl_ssim":["27bacc0f-7804-44a3-b6c2-636baf546c07"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Standing before us: Unitarian Universalist women and social reform"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:24:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:32:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4d709b0d-d187-4104-ad71-79160ea1e3f6"],"hasLease_ssim":["4865f2fd-5fa6-469c-892e-6e4002d9b509"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Elizabeth C Nordbeck"],"year_tesim":["1997"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Dorothy May Emerson"],"keyword_tesim":["Women, Universalist"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Unitarian women","Women authors","History","Women--Religious aspects--Unitarian Universalist churches","Unitarian Universalist Association"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project presents an anthology of historical texts by Universalist and Unitarian women of England and North America from 1776 to 1936.
