Five members of TCC attended six seminars over a two-year period, learning philosophy and methods of disciple-making, church growth, and project management. The project then monitored the church's progress through surveys and attendance records. This project examines these issues in order to find ways to prevent pastors from abandoning their call or congregations. Based on research in current literature, the project interviews pastors who have recently moved or left the ministry, and also surveys congregations they left behind. The project involves approximately 200 adults in study of three different approaches to mission.  This five-week study, conducted in the Sunday School, produced the raw material for a congregational mission statement that was adopted by the administrative board.  The process also involved many church members in actual mission projects.
