Dr John Savage's program on Calling and Caring Ministries is used as the method for training, calling preparation, and on-going support.  In-depth listening skills are taught to participants as the primary means of addressing the needs of inactive members.  Listening skills training precedes the calling phase of the practicum/project and both the training and calling give participants experience in reaching church drop-outs.  The practicum was conducted over a six-month period of time.  The pastor attended two training events, a group of nine lay persons was recruited, lay training and calling experiences were evaluated.  The practicum revealed the importance of pastoral and lay training in preparation for calling on inactive members. Recognizing the early signs of inactivity and making an immediate, caring response will reduce the number of church drop-outs. The hypothesis stated that experientially driven curriculum would significantly enrich families to a greater degree than would educationally based curriculum.  Quantitative results were measured through the Family Life Inventory (a forty-item questionnaire representing eight areas of healthy family fun ctioning).  Qualitative results were gathered through written evaluations and participatory observation. Will a 3-month small group study using Malphurs's steps for building vision produce a clear and unified vision of ministry among the leadership of Warren Community Fellowship, as determined by using a pretest and posttest vehicle of measurement?  Warren Community Fellowhship is a 5-year old, suburban, non-denominational community church with an average attendance of 400.
