The most significant conclusion of this work is that a sermon preparation worksheet can be designed and used to help a male preacher be sensitive to women's issues and to preach inclusively. The author learned that from a women's perspective, relationships are key to preaching and to ministry. By being sensitive to women's issues in preaching, one is enabled to be faithful to the message and ministry of Jesus Christ. Another important conclusion of this study is that when one focuses on women's issues in preaching one also speaks to males in the congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133982969036800,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:27:56.800Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:20:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:27:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"de365187-cf6f-4b0a-a98a-f73563fabb4d","accessControl_ssim":["af9d8567-ba1b-4de0-900b-c8042095dc15"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Teach the children well: empowering lay teachers for the church's educational task"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:19:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:29:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["051b5a3c-3ab9-4794-91d6-3b87d6f75bdd"],"hasLease_ssim":["6974fe43-4d12-4251-b8f2-8427558f1d21"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert L Conrad"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gary M Rose"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Church work","Sunday school teachers"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["In many congregations, there is a problem securing teachers for Sunday school, mid-week and vacation Bible school programs. It also presents a program for training laity in the context, purpose and content of Christian religious education. The processes of emotional, cognitive, moral and faith development in individuals are explored. At the beginning of the course students asked questions of God. These questions were used to structure a curriculum, based on the Bible and life experiences, to answer the questions. The students were tested at the end of this study to compare what they had learned to what they knew before. Stage 3 level students benefitted from this method."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133690014728192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:23:17.417Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:19:32Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:24:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a113f953-970d-4602-8d52-110551d586d4","accessControl_ssim":["d325c6b8-d472-4de9-a49f-9eb639edb1b1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The historic liturgy in a contemporary context: the meaning and purpose of worship"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T04:19:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:49:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["691c1939-324d-4cd3-936c-87a74006ebb8"],"hasLease_ssim":["0ffe629c-01b2-457f-af5e-716cc969ac67"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Mark P Bangert"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Thomas J Hallstrom"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Worship","Lutheran Church","Liturgics"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis of this paper is that the historic liturgy, as a set of attitudes and goals, is the single most valuable resource in understanding and responding to the dilemma facing Christian worship in the contemporary context. By historical analysis, present-day survey and observation, and case studies, the conclusion is that the cultic historic liturgy as the motor which drives parish life leads to strengthened mythos and energized ethos.
