To facilitate the analysis, an evaluative grid was developed.  The grid was the interpretive tool used to determine changes in the presentation of the doctrine of sanctification.  Two main conclusions came about because of this study.  First, no significant theological change took place in the doctrine of sanctification as it appeared in the Revivalist. The study results in a lexicon in which much-used terms and expressions in the period under investigation are identified and explained in the context of Nadere Reformatie holiness and Wesleyan holiness. This dissertation examines current literature on Christian corporate worship as well as literature describing current cultural characteristics in the United States.  A six-week series of worship services was conducted incorporating the results of the study.  The services are then evaluated to determine if they have been culturally sensitive and ministry-effective. If so, what are the factors that mitigate or have led to the phenomena?  Are they any programs that address the needs of 'latch-key' children? Should the church have a response to the phenomena?  It is argued that these and other questions need to be addressed if intervention is to take place. The `null' hypothesis was 'there will be no significant difference in reported behaviors and attitudes by a congregation in a church before and after it has experienced a week of special services.'  The hypothesis was proven correct. Forerunner Ministries is one of the first in the nation to systematize a national ministry for older adults.  Research for this project was accomplished through surveys, interviews, and appropriate book and literature exploration.
