The hypothesis was tested in India by developing and implementing a discipleship training program with mentoring. The project involved training two groups of students called mentoring and non-mentoring.  After fifteen weeks of discipleship training, test scores indicated that the mentored group had an edge over the non-mentored. The methodology reflects the utilization of pre-fast and post-fast multiple choice questionnaires designed to test spiritual concerns, attitudes, and knowledge pertaining to fasting. However, many local churches of both denominations are growing, if there is the dedication of an able, visionary, and spiritual pastor, committed laity, and ministries which meet the physical and spiritual needs of people in the community. The author traced the topic through its historical, agricultural, political and theological aspects.  The identity of owner-shepherds as distinct from under-shepherds was developed.  The method of research included interviews with shepherds in the Middle East and the United States, and extensive study and exegesis of the many biblical passages relating to the subject. The project demonstrates a significant improvment in group members facing an immediate crisis, such as divorce or separation from a spouse. The hypothesis stated that such materials would motivate families to conduct Bible studies with their children.  A parent evaluation of the project and a Bible test for children did not validate the hypothesis, but they did indicate that parents would welcome help in teaching the Bible at home. The thesis of this paper is that children can contribute creative ideas which will add new life and interest to the sermons. To demonstrate this, children, ages six to twelve, were engaged in a study of the Scriptures for each sermon. This required a great deal of preparation on the part of the preacher.  The effort was well worth the end results. Foundations of this study come from research in developmental theory, biological development and faith development.  Project areas are: God's gift of sexuality, the human body, sexually transmitted disease, self-esteem, peer-pressure, concepts of love and decision-making. A two-hour seminar over the manual was held with 113 Christians who wanted to win Mormons.  After a three-month period, the results were collected.  This took place in Santiago, Chile.  Of 55 non-missionary Mormons witnessed to, 24 left Mormonism, 14 were converted and 5 actually joined the Christian workers' churches. Among them is the church which has played a central role in the settlement of Korean immigrants in the United States. Currently, there are over 2,000 Korean-American churches in the United States. Unfortunately, this rapid growth in the number of Korean-American churches does not go hand in hand with the expected level of maturity in church life. Especially, active involvement of church members is not consistent from church to church.  This study takes an approach that development of active involvement of church members is one of the most important tasks of the ministry of pastors.
