Attention is given to the attitudes of parishioners regarding their willingness to participate in counseling.  The research demonstrates a definite concern for privacy and anonymity for most members.  The clients of the center are also surveyed.  The factors of location, privacy, pastoral counselor, cost and referral are rated by their importance in the client's decision to seek counseling at this center.  The responses of church members, unchurched persons, church leaders and non-leaders are compared and contrasted. The research involved measuring three goals within families: time spent, frequency of faith activity, and attitudes regarding the spiritual condition of the home.  Following a six-week focus of preaching and teaching concerning domestic faith ritual usage, the ministry resulted in a positive increase in all goal areas.  Each of seven participating families demonstrated positive improvement in at least one of the three goals. The research method employed grounded theory, which is based on observation and moves from specific incident to general principle.  Exegetical study of Genesis 2:18-25 and Ephesians 5:21-33 concluded that God's intent for marriage was an intimate mutual community. An object relations theory study of marriage revealed that the primary human need to be loved and validated motivates marital interaction. The theological rationale for conflict ministry included three biblical case studies of conflict, the ministry of the diaconate, and a theology and practice of conflict management. The goals of the project included raising awareness of the community, discovery of needs, and the establishment of ministry actions.  A task force was created by the church to oversee the planning and implementation of ministry actions.  Specific actions taken included a vacation Bible school, a transportation ministry, and a community interaction event. Four films were used to deal with four topics. The films were: When Harry Met Sally, Driving Miss Daisy, Ordinary People, and Terms of Endearment.  The films chosen dealt with human sexuality, racism, dysfunctional families, and death, respectively.  Biblical research was done in the area of the church and images.  Sociological and psychological research was done related to students and the four topics.  Testing was done with a control group of 12 students and a group of at-large students. Participants completed a grief workshop consisting of six two-hour sessions.  Pretest and posttest scores revealed limited yet substantial success.
