Drawn from both the theology of hope and those in the field of a psychology of hope, these resources were presented as an avenue for initiating or rekindling hope among clergy. The relationship of mind to body and individual to family, together with the emotions of helplessness and hope are explored. The methodology employed was studying anecdotes and scientific research on the 'mind/body connection' and CPE verbatims compiled in hospital cancer wards, leading a bereavement support group, attending seminars on healing and on church and family systems, reading family system theorists' writings, pastoring a church, and reviewing theological essays on Christian hope. The author has used her own experience of victimization and the experiences of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse as a way of presenting the issues involved. The biblical record is explored, looking first at the roots of violence evident in Scripture and, also, the seeds of hope contained therein. Christian theology is examined as to those parts which can be abusive to survivors."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133531723792384,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:20:46.458Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:08:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:20:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"52a85c87-258a-4f1e-8e8b-7c306afdf3a5","accessControl_ssim":["cfc5df03-6e89-4435-9d04-40a811f3fd2a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Weaving a joint tapestry: men supervising women in pastoral psychotherapy"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:08:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:33:12Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e996eef9-9f15-488e-abac-286cbd682e43"],"hasLease_ssim":["45742a81-ff5a-41aa-a2ca-d2ac29db9ce4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Henry C Brooks"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Steven D Olson"],"keyword_tesim":["Pastoral counselors--Training of"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Clinical psychology","Women","American Association of Pastoral Counselors"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project studied the expectations and experiences of female trainees in pastoral psychotherapy working with male supervisors. Using attachment theory, grief studies, and family theory, the project views divorce, single parenthood, and remarriage as a process of mourning and recovery. Divorce both necessitates and interferes with the usual mourning process. Unfinished mourning alters expectations about remarriage and potentially hinders the formation of stepfamilies. Interviews with remarried couples and case material from the author's counseling experience illustrate the theory. Pastoral responses to divorce and remarriage and theological perspectives on stepfamilies are suggested."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134057744039936,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:29:08.111Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:08:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:47:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"52143207-885b-4279-8ed9-8abf8d74f5e1","accessControl_ssim":["4a542abe-781a-4b14-8e47-3117484c811f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An evaluation of the concept of seminary in mission with reference to the Latin American Adventist Theological Seminary"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:08:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:32:12Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["35908740-8274-41db-946f-a5a0be6e3975"],"hasLease_ssim":["ca471840-7735-4f1d-a721-22fa43562df0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andrews University"],"advisor_tesim":["Werner Vyhmeister"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"location_tesim":["Latin America"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Juan Millanao"],"publisher_tesim":["Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University"],"subject_tesim":["Latin American Adventist Theological Seminary","Theological seminaries","Evangelistic work","Fieldwork (Educational method)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study examines the Seminary in Mission (SIM) concept held by the Latin American Adventist Theological Seminary, its current perception, and its degree of application by the five campuses.
