Koinonia is defined as a consensual partnership between a church's membership and minister(s) in which the roles and expectations of each party for the other are explicitly understood. The significant conclusions of this paper are that through a covenant process the reality of koinonia between laity and clergy as envisioned by the New Testament can be established and maintained in the local church today. The conclusion is that an extended time for reflection is mandatory for adults to expand their images of God to meet their particular human situation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134891491983360,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:42:23.235Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:52:50Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:44:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9435a868-9528-47b9-b143-9c765b399f8d","accessControl_ssim":["f8ebfa43-13df-4434-b6e0-0cf14c039d7b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Life in the balance--faith, family, and work: an approach to Christian education with families"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:52:49Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:28:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6fcdfca9-3d67-4ef6-8733-3e71e60b8031"],"hasLease_ssim":["f30a24a9-11c9-4569-8c3d-e720f74c413f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Candler School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Rodney J Hunter"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John M Downs"],"publisher_tesim":["Candler School of Theology of Emory University"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","Faith","Christian education of adults","Families","Labor"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The hypothesis proposed that if individuals examine patterns of faith, family, and work in light of themes of vocation and covenant, new awareness will empower change toward rebalancing loyalties. This was done to search out ways that would provide a vision for spiritual renewal and spur church growth. Christian fellowship was also used to establish a norm for Christian relationships. The fundamental issue of this aspect of the project dealt with the power structure of the church, how power issues hindered a partnership ministry, and caused people to be divided into separate groups. The primary focal point of this project was to address these issues by looking at images. 'The body of Christ' was utilized to emphasize that the separate groups were a part of the body of Christ. The concluding portion of this project stressed a partnership of ministry. Church members worked as partners because they recognized that Jesus had called them to community where there are different levels of ministry, but all persons are of equal value before God."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135111530414080,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:45:53.080Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:52:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:52:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1369786e-00ff-4f18-8bf8-fe5563de7dcb","accessControl_ssim":["0951c803-3961-4a92-9a8d-e19a553b8ee4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The church's care for widows"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:52:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:41:17Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["74e29423-e824-4280-834d-c96453819ce3"],"hasLease_ssim":["161c2158-da95-46a9-ad3b-2d2fcd9863d9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert C Anderson"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Wesley M Teterud"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Widows","Church work with bereaved persons"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Three out of four American wives will be widowed in their lifetime and remain in a state of widowhood for an average of eighteen years. In our high tech society the evangelical church has neglected the care of widows by relegating much of its responsibility to secular agencies. This project is a summons to the church to return to the biblical priority of caring for widows in practical ways. Using personal interviews, surveys, statistical analysis, as well as traditional methods of research, the author sought to determine exactly how serious the problem of neglect toward widows is, what their needs are, and how the church might begin a viable ministry to address these needs. The practical result of this work was the production of a manual for churches and relatives of widows to use in preparing caregivers to assist widows in their plight."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131761542955008,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:52:38.283Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13083,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":46,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"Thesis","hits":9,"label":"Thesis"},{"value":"D.Min.
