Part one consisted of developing a curriculum that helped the young person to know Christ and to make him known.  Part two used pre-test/post-test instruments to evaluate the success of the newly developed material on groups of high school and college students led by trained youth ministers. Until this time, the church had never had a formal structure, but instead relied upon the leading of the Spirit.  Drawing upon input from the congregation, the project sought to develop a theological, congregational and denominational (movement) foundation.  The project addresses the background of the problem and need for structure, the theological and administrative issues, and the methodology of accomplishing the task.  Evaluation of the finished project revealed the need, congregational support and enthusiasm for the end product. Subjects were pre-tested and post-tested for frequency of practice of four spiritual disciplines (solitude, meditation, study and service) and spiritual well-being (SWB) using Ellison's SWB scale. Subjects were instructed in a thirteen-week course on those disciplines.  Differences on pre- and post-test scores were observed to evaluate the effect of changes in frequency of practice and SWB responses. Qualitative, feminist methodology was used to design a process which included storytelling, theological reflection and social analysis. An awareness of the dimensions and possibilities for personal meaning, along with a preparation for the use of new hymn images, is explored in a series of congregational workshops.  A phenomenological approach is applied to this qualitative research project. The thesis documents the breakthrough experience in the lives of these women as they name the causes and consequences of their growing feminist self-awareness and the relationship of their self-awareness to their own spiritual journey.  The theory of Bernard Lonergan's self-appropriation of the human subject undergirds this study.  This theoretical framework shapes the process of theological reflection used with the women and sets the scene for an understanding of emerging consciousness in women that is liberating.  A feminist methodology is employed which situates the research in the experience of the researcher.  The findings of this study confirm that there is an emerging feminist consciousness among Catholic women which needs to be nurtured by conscientized and sensitive ministers. The practice of ministry in a congregation made up of people of a variety of ethnic origins will encounter problems resulting from ethnic and cultural differences.  In order for the congregation to be integrated into a working and worshipping whole, these differences must be identified and appreciated.  In-depth interviews of eight family units chosen from the traditional congregation and recent-comers from Guyana were conducted, followed by three group meetings.  Transcripts were analysed, and the findings compared with the experience of similar congregations. Ten men and women in the Dalton District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church committed four weeks to the project.  The district superintendent was the convener, a co-participant, and provided leadership by precept and example.  Sessions included theological foundations of wellness, a medical evaluation of each participant, identification of healthy eating and exercise habits, and application of learnings to the local church and community.  All participants met at least one of their goals relating to diet and/or exercise.
