However, there has been little attempt by congregations to help people explore these dimensions of recovery within the context of the church community itself.  With such help, some recovering people might find an additional center of support and guidance for whole-life renewal. The theology/philosophy was formed by studying the Bible and books from theological and counseling areas.  Several counseling models were incorporated to form a useful model for churches.  Case studies and counselee evaluations were completed for three church members.  The theology/philosophy and the counseling model were effective in giving direction in counseling. The theological perspective is taken Jurgen Moltman's understanding of the suffering God. The hypothesis is that certain God representations are used to form beliefs that put persons at risk as either victims or perpetrators of family violence.  The paper uses two case studies to focus on three aspects of domestic violence: the physical, the psychological, and the sexual.  Rizzuto's God and Family Questionnaires are a diagnostic tool in this study. The training program included didactic seminars, counseling sessions, group discussion, case studies, and role play.  Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups.  Statistically significant growth was measured in the deacons' understanding of senior adult needs, crime's impact on senior adults, and counseling senior adult victims. Assuming that some uses are better than others, the project seeks indices for evaluating materials, personnel and programs related to the lectionary. A form of factor analysis is judged the most appropriate method for discovering the indices.  An interpretive perspective is illuminated by a contrast between two distinct theological currents within contemporary Catholicism.  The lectionary is situated within one current, as are its appropriate religious education uses.  Data gathered in sixty-one interviews are reported and interpreted. Recommendations to increase lay involvement were formulated in the final two sessions.  The project was evaluated by the experimental and descriptive survey methods.
