The project applies the concept of hospitality to the development of a specialized older adult ministry.  The study examines the characteristics and needs of older adults and notes the biases held by society against the elderly.  By using insights from social marketing theory, hospitality was expressed by carrying out need assessment, program design, implementation, and evaluation for an older adult ministry in a particular congregation. The author explores the viability of a theology and strategy of friendship evangelism.  It is a caring way to share our faith. Understanding the dynamics of a particular congregation is no less important.  This study is concerned with an aspect of particular congregations: congregations grieve.  It explores the nature of congregation and the nature of grief.  It argues that congregations grieve as one.  It shows ways to identify that grief, and pictures the dynamics of three congregations in grief. Curriculum includes drawing, Bible story-telling, artistic interaction, use of published literature, and a personal interview with each child participant. Some stories reveal a problem of nonforgiveness among the people. Theological research reveals that though our memories will not release our hurts, there must be some sharing of God's grace and forgiveness between the members of the church. When a minister discovers a problem like nonforgiveness, there must be some constructive way to address the problem without inflaming past wounds. This project explains problems associated with that process.  The procedure examines Paul's 'diversity in unity' principle concerning spiritual gifts; the principle in Ephesians 4:11-13 as the proper mobilization model; and the dynamics that evolve within the local church. This project describes the process used to compile a handbook for local church pastors with specific focus on white 'Old Yankee' Protestant women over the age of seventy-five.
