A comparison is made between the Self, the central archetype in the psychology of Carl Jung, and the Christ presented in archetypal symbols in John.  Both address the creative, dynamic, unifying center of personality; Jung does so in psychological language, John in theological/christological language. Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho beliefs and customs concerning death and burial are studied through interviews with Cheyenne and Arapaho religious leaders and relevant written materials.  Two sample Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho funerals described in the paper contain Christian and traditional Cheyenne and Arapaho religious elements. These funeral services are critiqued by practitioners of Christianity and traditional Cheyenne and Arapaho religions. Through two non-threatening questionnaires Eastridge Baptist Church evaluated its Sunday morning worship service.  The study benefited the congregation by revealing needed adjustments to details of its worship practice and by serving as a vehicle for the congregation and its new pastor to become better and more rapidly acquainted.
