Praise is defined as the demonstrative expression of adoration to God for God and his acts in history.  The project identified the biblical, theological and historical bases for expanding praise in worship.  Various elements of worship through which praise is offered are identified.  Changes in the expectations of congregants are analyzed by comparing three questionnaires completed at different times during the project period. Biblical, theological, and contemporary scholarship on the subject of transformational leadership is analyzed.  In the field of scholarship particular attention is given to the work of George MacGregor Burns. In the treatment of biblical and theological issues particular address is made to churches in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition. Tri-modal structuring, with its three modes of interaction, is described in chapter 3.
