This project analyzes and explores the use of Thomas Groome's shared Christian praxis as an approach to teach an introductory church history course. Church history as faith story can formulate Christian self-understanding (Malaysian Christian self-understanding). An introductory church history course syllabus based on shared praxis was designed and taught. to review and evaluate the course, 'Affirming Our Faith Today;' and to offer possibilities for future direction for lay theological education.  In the development of the course, a process theological perspective was used and theoretical perspective developed by Malcolm Knowles.  The materials presented were prototypic affirmations from the scriptures; the Apostle's Creed; contemporary creeds in global context; and personal and corporate statements of faith in the local church.
