The goal was that through this experience participants would confirm and strengthen their responses to the gospel. The drama evoked the stories of the congregation and strengthened their own developing faith journeys toward deepening trust.  The full-length drama was written with information obtained from faith development interviews of adults and from letters, writings, poems and memoirs in the life of 79-year-old Libba Herbert. A participants' guide is used to interpret this religious education ministry project to the audience who evaluated the experience and confirmed the project's thesis. It used the understanding of older adults in a support group.  With the Council on Ministries, they identified a specific need and designed a tool of ministry -- a congregational interest inventory survey -- which was presented at a worship service led by older adults. The goal of the practicum was to develop a plan for recruiting and training lay leaders in the local church that could help solve the problem by providing a reservoir of trained and willing persons adequate to meet the needs of that church. The author worked with a local church in developing and using a leadership plan that was repeated for four years. Evaluations and observations indicated that the plan did make a significant difference in the availability of lay leadership. While working with divorced people the author discovered one theme that is common to nearly all divorce situations, the theme of loneliness.  To address the theme of loneliness he modeled his procedure after William B Ogleby Jr's book Biblical themes for pastoral care. Oglesby underscores the importance of using the biblical story to intersect life themes.
