Exploratory research and theological correlation procedures were employed.  The project conceptualizes how liberation ministry can best serve the needs of the estranged person in this church.  The model for pastoral care in the institutional geriatric church represents theory building. Asserting that God prescribes caring as a cure for diversity, the project attempted to teach the church to care and understand the identity of the people of God as a caring community.  Personal contact, sermons, classes and administrative plans all played a part. A task force was recruited to investigate methods of announcing the lordship of Christ by adopting the role of journalists for the church.  Its method and results were studied over a period of several months through participation in the group, frequent consultation with the minister of the church, detailed interviews with members of the church.  The written project offers a theological reflection on these activities. The findings of this study are based on library research, listening and 20 years of the researcher's pastoral experience.  The study concludes that marriage is a this-world human institution planned by God (Gen 2:18, Matt 22:30).  It was planned for alleviation of loneliness, a fulfilling sexual intercourse, procreation, economic support and mutual responsibility for God's creation. Although monogamy is portrayed as the ideal, polygamy is validated as marriage. The research was done via questionnaires and a personal visit to each church by the author.  It revealed that there were growing Baptist churches in all four states.  Fifteen characteristics were readily acknowledged as significant in these churches and their growth.
